Out of the mouth of Henry...

I don't want to crazy dance to parent music! - It was Newsboys, that's not parent music.

Where's Daddy's new ikea?

I'm new and Mommy is new, but Daddy is very old. - This was said on Josh's 34th birthday.

And the kicker is...

Those are cows. Where are the chickens? You're a chicken. Chickens eat dirt. You eat dirt. You're a chicken. I don't like you. You go eat dirt like chickens. - This was said to Sammy, the man who sold us both cars, during a test drive. Henry was completely serious and Candi was horrified. Sammy was great. He laughed and said that Henry had a great vocabulary.

Look what we bought...

A new van! Yes, we replaced the white van with another white van. Not our first choice, but when God does the picking you don't complain. We bought the van on February 29th at Enumclaw Dodge. It's a 2007 grand carvan. It should last us a number of years. We have named her Pearl to remind us that God creates beauty out of discomfort.

Josh finally has a vehicle again, too. We purchased a 2004 kia optima for him. We got a great deal on both cars and it's nice to have to working vehicles again. Just ask Josh...

Fashion forward

If you're wondering if Henry got any new clothes for his birthday...
The answer would be yes. Elaine wanted to model them for us on Sunday morning before church. She even has his new socks on, they are brown and yellow.

What do you think of her new look?

I'm four years old!

Hard to believe...we now have a 4 year old in our house. Henry chose this "construction cake" after looking through the cake book at Safeway over and over. He was so excited, because "they are building a road". Plus, "I get new construction trucks and I don't have any of those".

Henry is looking at the candles. This is a new thing for him. The first year he threw up on his cake. The second year he cried. Last year the candles were scary and he kept his hands over his eyes. He's growing up.

Here's the cake again. I know you've seen it enough, but he loves this cake. It was all he talked about for the three days before his birthday and he's still talking about it two weeks later. It was a chocolate cake with chocolate fudge filling and white frosting. It tasted great!
The boy had a huge pile of presents to open. He liked all his matchbox cars the best.

Here are Henry's comments on his birthday...

I really did like my birthday. The best part was opening my matchbox cars. I liked my cake. It was so good and it tasted like a construction cake. It was a construction cake. My people came. Like auntie Beth and uncle Mike. You know my people. That's all the people that I met. I was glad people came, cause it was a fabulous party. I got a tent. It was so fancy and I put cars in it. I like playing cars in it. It came with the flashlight, cool.
